Barbecued Turkey Sandwiches

Adapted from The National Turkey Federation

  • 4 cups turkey light meat, skinless
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tsps low-sodium worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 8 whole wheat hamburger buns, split and toasted
In a large saucepan, combine vinegar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring mixture to boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. Stir in turkey and cook five minutes more, or until mixture is heated through. Spoon hot barbecue mixture over bottom half of toasted burger buns. Top with other half.
