Triple Fudge Cake

Adapted from Betty Crocker's Ultimate Cake Mix Cookbook

  • 1/3 cup low fat sweetened condensed milk
  • 5 ozs semisweet chocolate chips
  • 18 1/4 ozs triple chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 1 cup sweetened applesauce
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 3 tbsps pecans, chopped
Triple Fudge Cake
preheat oven to 350. prepare a 13"x9" pan with cooking spray; set aside. In a glass liquid measure, combine sweetened condensed milk and half cup chocolate chips. Microwave on medium for one minute or until chips are melted. Mix until smooth and set aside. In a mixing bowl combine, cake mix, oil, applesauce, and eggs. Mix until all is moistened. Reserve one cup. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Drop melted chocolate mixture by teaspoonfuls over batter, dropping more around edge than in center. In a small bowl, combine remaining chocolate chips and pecans. Add to reserved cake batter. Sprinkle evenly over top cake. Bake for 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
