Southern Spiced Pecans

Adapted from Taste of Home Magazine

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 3 tsps cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 16 ozs pecan halves
  • 4 tbsps granulated sugar
  • 2 tsps salt
Southern Spiced Pecans
Preheat oven to 250. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside. In a large saucepan, melt margarine. Add cumin and cayenne pepper. Mix well and cook for three minutes. Remove saucepan from heat. Add pecans, sugar, and salt. Mix until all pecans are coated. Place onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Once cooled, break into small pieces.
