Root Beer Cake

Adapted from Cake Mix Miracles

  • 16 1/4 ozs yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/2 ozs Dream Whip whipped topping mix, dry
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 12 ozs root beer carbonated beverage
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 3 whole eggs
  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsps root beer carbonated beverage
Root Beer Cake
Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 9"x13" pan with cooking spray; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, whipped topping, and baking powder. Mix well. Add 12 ounces root beer, oil, and eggs. Mix until all is moistened. Spread evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Pierce top of cake with a wooden skewer. To prepare glaze, combine powdered sugar and remaining root beer in a liquid measure. Pour over holes in cake. Chill until ready to serve.
