Orange Cake

Adapted from Quick Fixes with Mixes

  • Cake:
  • 3 ozs orange gelatin powder
  • 1 c water, hot
  • 18 1/4 ozs yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/2 ozs Dream Whip whipped topping mix
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1/2 c egg whites
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Glaze:
  • 2 c powdered sugar
  • 1/3 c refrigerated orange juice
Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 9"x13' pan with cooking spray; set aside. In a small bowl, combine gelatin and hot water. Mix until gelatin is dissolved. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, dry, whipped topping mix, eggs, egg whites, oil, and gelatin mixture. Mix until all is moistened. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Meanwhile to prepare glaze, combine powder sugar and orange juice. Pour over warm cake.
