Layered Chicken Noodle Bake

Adapted from

  • 1 lb ground chicken breast skinless
  • 15 ozs tomato sauce
  • 6 ozs tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsps granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp pizza seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 4 ozs no yolk wheat noodles, cooked
  • 8 ozs fat-free cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ozs light sour cream
  • 3 tbsps fat-free milk
  • 10 ozs frozen spinach, thawed and drained
Layered Chicken Noodle Bake
Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 11"x7" casserole dish with cooking spray; set aside. In a large skillet, cook chicken until no longer pink. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, sugar, basil, pizza seasoning, garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper. Mix well and bring to a boil. Mix noodles with chicken mixture. Spread enough of the chicken mixture to cover the bottom of the casserole dish. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and milk. Mix until smooth. Spread over chicken mixture in dish. Spread spinach evenly over top. Top with remaining chicken mixture. Bake for 30 minutes, or until heated through.
