Hunt's 100 Year Old Pizza Recipe

Adapted from Hunt's 100 Years of Great American Cooking

  • 1 lb frozen white bread dough, thawed completely
  • 3/4 c water
  • 6 ozs tomato paste
  • 1/2 tbsp pizza seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 ozs mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsps parmesan cheese
  • 1 c onions, chopped
Hunt's 100 Year Old Pizza Recipe
Preheat oven to 400. Prepare a 12" pizza pan with cooking spray. Pat dough into prepared pan. Form dough edges into a rim and prick dough with a fork. Bake crust for ten minutes. Meanwhile, to prepare sauce, combine water, tomato paste, pizza seasoning, oregano, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper in a medium saucepan. Mix well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer ten minutes. Spread sauce over crust. Sprinkle top with cheeses and onions. Bake for 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly.
