French Toast Strata

Adapted from Best Loved Casseroles

  • 9 ozs Italian white bread
  • stale and cut up into pieces
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups fat-free milk
  • 1/2 cup pancake syrup
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsps cinnamon
French Toast Strata
Prepare a 11"x7" dish with cooking spray; set aside. Place bread pieces into prepared pan; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, pancake syrup, and vanilla extact. Mix well. Pour mixture evenly over bread pieces in pan; set aside. In a smaller bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly ont top of strata. Cover and chill three hours. Preheat oven to 350. Bake for 40 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
