Chili With Chocolate

Adapted from Chili Cookbook

  • 1 lb ground chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 3 tsps garlic, minced
  • 28 ozs no-salt-added diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 15 ozs canned chili beans, undrained
  • 2 tbsps chili powder
  • 1 ozs semi-sweet chocolate squares
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tbsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp pepper sauce
In a large skillet, cook chicken, onions, and garlic until chicken is no longer pink. Place chicken mixture in to a 3-quart slow cooker. Add canned tomatoes, chili beans, chili powder, and chocolate. Mix well. Cover and cook on low for five hours. Add salt, black pepper, and pepper sauce during last hour of cooking.
