Apple Corn Bread Crisp

Adapted from Taste of Home Magazine 2017

  • 2 lbs Granny Smith apples, sliced and peeled
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed and divided
  • 6 ozs cornbread mix
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice
  • 5 tbsps margarine, cubed
Apple Corn Bread Crisp
Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 11"x7" casserole dish with cooking spray; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine apples and half cup brown sugar. Spread into prepared dish; set aside. In a shallow bowl, combine cornbread mix, quick oats, cinnamon, and apple pie spice, and remaining brown sugar. Mix well. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over top apples in dish. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bubbly.
