Sweet and Salty Chili Peanuts

Adapted from Texas Co-Op Power Magazine

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsps chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsps margarine
  • 16 ozs cocktail peanuts
Sweet and Salty Chili Peanuts
Preheat oven to 300. Place a piece of foil onto baking sheet, sprayed with cooking spray; set aside. In a saucepan combine chili powder, garlic salt, black pepper, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, water, and margarine. Mix well and cook for five minutes. Add peanuts. Mix until peanuts are well coated. Place nuts evenly onto prepared foiled lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes four cups or 16 - 1/4 cup servings.
