Linguine With Basil Sauce

Adapted from Hunt's 100 Years of Great American Cooking

  • 2 tsps garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, chopped
  • 28 ozs canned crushed tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 tbsp basil
  • 1 tsp pizza seasoning
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsps granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsps salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 ozs linguine, cooked
Linguine With Basil Sauce
In a large skillet, cook garlic, onions, and bell peppers until tender. Add crushed tomatoes, basil, pizza seasoning, red wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until heated through. Serve over cooked linguine.
