Five Layer Brownie Dessert

Adapted from Cookies, Bars, & Muffins Cookbook

  • 18 ozs brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 ozs instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 8 ozs fat-free cream cheese, softened
  • 6 ozs milk chocolate chips
  • 8 ozs Cool Whip Free, thawed
Five Layer Brownie Dessert
Preheat oven to 325. Prepare a 13" x 9" pan with cooking spray; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine brownie mix, water, egg, and oil. Mix until all is moistened. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Meanwhile, prepare pudding mix according to package directions; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar and cream cheese. Mix for one minute or until until smooth; set aside. Sprinkle-cooled, baked brownies with 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly overtop. Spread the chocolate pudding mixture evenly over the cream cheese mixture. Spread whipped topping evenly over all in the pan. Sprinkle the remaining half-cup chips over top. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
