Chocolate Dream Dessert

Adapted from Quick Cooking Magazine

  • 16 1/4 ozs chocolate cake mix
  • 1 1/2 ozs Dream Whip whipped topping mix, dry
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 ozs instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cup fat-free milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
  • 12 ozs Cool Whip Free, thawed and divided
  • 3 tbsps walnuts, chopped
Chocolate Dream Dessert
Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a 9" x 13" pan with cooking spray; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, whipped topping mix, and baking powder. In another mixing bowl, combine water, egg whites, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients just until moistened. Spread mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Meanwhile, prepare pudding mix according to package directions, using three cups milk. Pour into another 9"x13" pan. Cut cake pieces into small pieces and place over pudding in pan. Drizzle with half cup chocolate syrup. Spread whipping topping evenly over top. Drizzle with remaining chocolate syrup. Sprinkle walnuts evenly over top. Chill several hours before serving.
