Southwestern Style Meatballs

6 servings

1/2 c onions, chopped 1 tsp chili powder 
1/2 c bell peppers, chopped 1/4 tsp garlic powder 
15 ozs no-salt-added tomato sauce 1/4 tsp oregano 
15 ozs canned dark red kidney beans, drained 1/4 tsp salt 
2 tsps light brown sugar 12 whole pre-cooked meatballs 
In a large saucepan, cook onions and bell peppers until tender. Add tomato sauce, beans, sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, oregano, salt,and meatballs. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer ten minutes, or until meatballs are heated through, stirring occasionally.
