Slow-Simmered Marinara Sauce

Adapted from ConAgra Foods

  • 1 cup onions, chopped
  • 58 ozs canned diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 15 ozs tomato sauce
  • 12 ozs tomato paste
  • 2 tsps basil
  • 2 tsps oregano
  • 2 tsps granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp pizza seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Slow-Simmered Marinara Sauce
In a 6-quart cooker, combine onions, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, sugar, pizza seasoning, salt, and crushed red pepper. Mix well. Cover and cook on low for six 6 hours. Serve with cooked pasta.
