Slow-Simmered Marinara Sauce Slow-Simmered Marinara Sauce

1  cup  onions, chopped  2  tsps  oregano 
58  ozs  canned diced tomatoes, undrained  2  tsps  granulated sugar 
15  ozs  tomato sauce  1  tsp  pizza seasoning 
12  ozs  tomato paste  1  tsp  salt 
2  tsps  basil  1/2 tsp  red pepper flakes 
In a 6-quart cooker, combine onions, garlic cloves, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, sugar, pizza seasoning, and crushed red pepper. Mix well.Cover and cook on low for six 6 hours. Serve with cooked pasta.
Makes 2-1/2 quarts or yields 12 servings (3/4 cup for pasta each).
